ABOUT THE PROJECT

The comprehensive planning process will be taking place over the next few months, with the final plan expected to be adopted in April of 2023. When complete, the new comprehensive plan will outline the future goals of Speedway and be the foundation for all policy decisions. When implemented the document will help encourage economic development, enable sustainability, protect the quality of life of current residents, and ensure healthy growth for the town.

INFORMATION GATHERING

This phase will help everyone understand what assets currently exist; what challenges the community might face in the future; and what goals the community has for future growth, development and preservation.

IDEA & STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT

This phase allows the project team to think about long-term goals and strategic action items that will ensure the community continues to maintain and improve upon their amenity and development offerings.

COMMUNITY DRIVEN IMPLEMENTATION

In this final phase, the project team will make sure  the community has developed the tools and partners they need to make lasting change in the community.

THE PROJECT TEAM

A critical part of the success of this planning process is the participation of property owners, residents, business owners, and other stakeholders in the community. A comprehensive plan is, at its foundation, a guiding document that touches the life of every community resident.

To ensure that the planning process takes into account the ideas, concerns, and desires of the broader community, the planning process will incorporate two different community groups that will assist the consulting team in developing and reviewing plan deliverables.

PROJECT REVIEW TEAM

The Review Team will work in collaboration with the American Structurepoint team to guide the process and ultimately decide the direction of the final plan.
